TEACHERS: Our Marvelous Heroes

“Man proposes and God disposes”, indeed, in life, people may come and go, some are rememberedIMG_4549 and some are forgotten. But one thing is for sure, we will never forget the people who are known as our second parents, who exerted efforts for us to acquire knowledge, values, and confidence. They are our guiding stars for long tedious years of journey. Others call them TEACHERS but we call them HEROES.
They may scold and correct us when we do something wrong. They are there as we face life’s challenges in reaching the ladder of success. They are the icons of values that appreciate the efforts we’ve exerted through and through. The givers of wisdom who are always there to feed a bit-full of information that are useful from day to day. The men and women of the educational arena who are imbued with profound sense of righteousness and ideals. They are the persons who sacrificed for the good of us, and yet, the laziness that we’ve shown them, and the tardiness that they have seen from us never moved them to stop rather elicit them to pursue and sail for a new discovery on us. After all, they never give up and they never stop to fill us with knowledge and values we deserve. When we are going to fall, they are always there to reach our hands and pull us back and so, the years might have been overthrown, and everything will fade, but they are always be OUR HEROES FOR LIFE. For all that efforts and sacrifices that they’ve done for us how would life be without our teachers?
I am talking to you on the special occasion of Teachers’ Day. On this day, we gratefully remember the great educators who have the best minds in this country. Hence, it is vital for all our people, for us students and even to our parents to know the teachers’ struggles and sacrifices as they lay the foundation of creating enlightened citizens for this nation. On this day, I would like you to recall the teachers who helped you shaped the persons in you with pride and dignity to face the world.  Let us be our teachers’ voices for loving the teaching profession for without mentors, we are nothing; for without educators, we are not educated; for without teachers, we remain ignorant; and for without them, we are mindless. Today is the beginning of the new frontiers for our beloved teachers whose existence never vanishes.
I come from the countryside of this province, of the so called Dueñas reaching this very stage here in SM City not only to joint this competition but, as for me to grace this occasion as an opportunity to be heard by our teachers – imagining, talking, speaking, and praising about them – who deserved to be hailed and glorified as such. Their influencing roles in shaping and molding the historical phase and democratic outlook of our lives are like beacons of light, guiding us in the formative years of our existence. What we learn from these noble persons remains with us, in creating the best for our future and the generations to come. However, very often, we fail to show our appreciation and gratitude for their altruistic devotion. Teachers do need the encouragement and support from the community to feel that their efforts are being recognized and make their purpose serviceable to others – that is the real essence of Teachers’ Day Celebrations. By celebrating the remarkable day for our teachers, we thank them for providing us their valuable guidance, love, and care. And so, in unison, let us clap our hands for our beloved teachers!
Like you, I got to know my teachers in different perspective; yet, maybe after this we may have the same view of them. Nevertheless, one thing is certain. They have touched our lives in their own special way BEYOND CLASSROOMS because they are MARVELOUS TEACHERS.
Yes! You’ve heard it right. They are marvelous. Our teachers do exist like Spiderman who got great power for a reason – it is marked as RESPOSIBILITY, a virtue that helped them to embark with faith in the Divine Providence which guides the destinies of men and nations. Like Ironman, teachers are heroes who are made by the paths they choose, not by the powers they are graced with. In fact, they love our country for it is the home of the Filipino race, the race of our affections, and source of our happiness and well-being. Our heroes bear the Sword of Excalibur, which is an heirloom from King Arthur. The Excalibur Sword of Teachers is stainless, deathless but never useless. It safeguards the purity of suffrage and implies not only right but also obligations. They provide and show three important things to be truly happy in this world: to love, to do, and to hope for something worthwhile – TEACHING. Because of these realities, our teachers are born unique, one of a kind, extraordinary, and special. Beyond the four walls of the classrooms are TEACHERS – our MARVELOUS HEROES. Love you!
